After years of being a bad sleeper I find myself wondering if I am now conditioned into not sleeping or getting very little sleep?
My GP tells me so many times
"with the medications you are on you should be sleeping each and every night"
but more often than not I find myself awake and twiddling my thumbs.
Over the years I have tried everything to help my insomnia from sleeping tablets, herbal remedies, reiki, reflexology and acupuncture to name but a few. None of them have worked for me so I sit here and ponder upon my day, do a bit of late night online shopping and catch up on what's been happening on Facebook.
How could feeling like I've not slept even a minute in the past year, eyes so heavy they refuse to open and a mind that's like cotton wool webs catching every thought before it makes it to memory or its desired destination end up with me being WIDE awake ??
It would seem that the second I give in to the feeling or look at a pillow or a duvet my body kicks into wake up mode !!
Strangely however put on a film that I really want to watch or have a massively important meeting or appointment to attend even a party or social gathering I really want to attend my body decides its time to sleep sometimes and hour or 2 sometimes a whole day or weekend, one of life's biggest jokes is that if I sleep I feel 100% more tired than I did before I slept UTTER MADNESS!
